Catay 5

Catay 5 was an architectural renovation, interior design, and custom furniture project by Diamantina & la Perla. Our vision focused on spatial continuity, maximizing natural light, and the dialogue between different craft techniques and materials as the protagonists of the project, creating a generous atmosphere by eliminating the physical barriers that originally fragmented the space.

An urban retreat

This project redefines the boundaries between interior and exterior to create a sanctuary of urban tranquility. Catay 5 employs an architectural language where natural light, fine materials, and generous proportions interact in perfect harmony, creating spaces that breathe and evolve with their inhabitants.

The structural reconfiguration is manifested through precise decisions: the integration of previously enclosed balconies, which now establish a direct dialogue with the interior of the apartment; the strategic removal of false ceilings to restore their original height, accentuated by a set of subtly lit gabled roofs; and the programmatic redistribution that transforms four rooms into three more generous and coherent spaces.

This project proposes a reflection on the true meaning of contemporary luxury, shifting it from ostentation to a sensitivity attentive to time, function, and sensation.

The space focuses on the use of noble materials, such as woods in natural tones and light colors that bring warmth and luminosity; hand-carved Barichara natural stone finishes; and the integration of interior gardens, which introduce living elements into the space.

Each material decision responds to a search for aesthetic and functional permanence, while technical solutions such as soundproof windows create a haven of calm within the urban context of this apartment.
