Colombian handicrafts are increasingly finding their place in our home décor. In this blog by Diamantina & La Perla, we want to tell you about the manufacturing process of our Barú coffee table, made by artisans from the Amazon.

Adrián Ferreira Curico, an artisan from the Macedonia community in the Amazon, began his craft at the age of 13. Today, together with Diamantina & La Perla, he makes Colombian handicrafts for home decoration.

The tradition of craftsmanship in contemporary design

At Diamantina & La Perla, we not only want to offer interior decoration items, but also continue the artisan legacy, combining tradition with new design trends.

The Barú coffee table is an example of this dialogue between past and present, where the manual work of Amazonian artisans is combined with contemporary design to create unique pieces.

The wood used to make the table is left to dry for 20 to 25 days. Then, the shaping process begins, done by hand with the help of a machete.

Each of the spheres that make up the base of the Barú table receives special treatment, making each piece unique.

Our coffee table is ideal for the living room: it will make it look original, comfortable, and spectacular, as well as giving it a natural touch that stands out among the objects that surround it.
